They just want to be the one to teach your children to do things quicker to make your life a little bit more challenging! <div><br /></div><div>Case in point - Trev's Dad has been teaching Luke to walk. He's 9 months old!!!! Please! Stop!!!! But the fact is - Luke absolutely LOVES it and loves spending time with his Grandpa.<div><br /></div><div>And just yesterday visiting Grammy in Pittsburgh she decided to see if Luke could climb the stairs... and the answer is YES!!! Quite well as a matter of fact - thanks so much Grammy! He laughed and giggled his way up those stairs over and over and over again - even faster if the cat was sitting at the top of the stairs!!! Don't feel bad for Chloe though - she knew when to get out of the way of the cackling drooling little fan that was stalking her. </div><div><br /></div><div>Any way - there is nothing like watching Luke with his family. They love him so much and as he grows older he will see how lucky he is. Trev was just saying how funny is it that our definition of a great day has changed so much. We spent Saturday at my cousin's in Duncansville, PA - never even left the house - but I honestly don't think Luke has ever laughed and giggled so much. He had the very best day with his cousin William and Uncle Matthew & Aunt Renee. He just played from the moment he woke up to splashing and laughing himself silly at bath time. No wonder he fell sound asleep!</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm sure we'll have a few more Grandparent stories to tell in a few weeks after my Dad & Sandi visit for a few days!</div></div>Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-91156455775968161482009-02-07T16:49:00.000-08:002009-02-07T16:52:09.603-08:00Mystery SolvedOur sweet little boy is a bit crankier this week and doing a lot of whining and crying and sleeping. What could be wrong with our sweet boy? Well..... it's another GROWTH SPURT! My 31 inch little man is going to outgow us all if he keeps this up! So now I know to give him more food during the day - make sure he is getting enough fluids and let him sleep a little more often since he isn't taking very long naps. <br /><br />I'm new at this - but I'll get there!Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-81042297199298387082009-02-04T22:50:00.000-08:002009-02-04T23:02:54.223-08:00Time flies when your chasing after Luke!<div>I had promised myself I would write more often that what I have - but life takes over sometimes and you just have to go with the flow. As it is it's almost 2am and I have class and a test tomorrow night (hence why I am up late studying) - so I'll make it a good coffee day tomorrow!</div><br /><div>In the past month I have been absolutely blown away by the changes in Luke. He went from my baby who belly crawled everywhere to - in one week mind you - pulled himself up on his knees, pulled himself up on feet and then decided the belly crawl was not working and went for the full-out crawl. And MAN is he QUICK!</div><div> </div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299203059695552066" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgveZUxJ47zlKMD6pkjkD2cj4cMhy9Im-Gp7fzvYT61c4DwL1eiL-NI1fF_xmsZk06COpd1sdDLHwBKie4tXVvSepotVLSeccmm8PgyHGlWwYP9vbSWBv1HKr9yQb8kl4RxE1lPijGt478/s320/IMG_1106.JPG" border="0" /></div><br /><div>All the same - he is still my sweet baby boy. Now that he is offically 9 mos old he is moving into more "solid" food. It's fun watching him go through the discovery process - especially figuring out how to actually "eat" the food. And when he likes something he keeps repeating "yummmm" over and over as he is taking each bite. It's a non-stop YUMM fest when the Cheerios are put in front of him!!!</div><div> </div><div>And his little personality is really starting to show. He finally waved "bye-bye" for the first time in correct context at the dentists on Tuesday. Yes - he stole every single heart there because they were all fawning over him at the time when he did it! And the laughter is so much larger now. He seems to just laugh with his whole body!!!! Saturday morning was my morning to sleep in (FINALLY) and I wake up to the whole house just FILLED with his laughter. I looked over the loft balcony and he is sitting on Grandpa's lap laughing with his whole entire body while watching Daddy through a ball up in the air and catch it. Complete, uncontrollable laughter! It makes me want to just grab him, kiss him all over and hold on for dear life!!!</div><div> </div><div>But with the joy comes the reality of good GOD it is a lot of work to keep up with this little boy! I seriously need to start taking my health more seriously or he is going to plow right over me in no time! I also think it's time for play dates. He loves other kids - I need to make it more of a priority. Oh well - you do what you can when you can get it done!!!! Perhaps that is why I leave cleaning for the very last thing to do!!!! :)</div>Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-6316511325075919322008-12-11T13:29:00.000-08:002008-12-11T13:47:49.733-08:00Teething... oiy!I have been told several time by several people how lucky I am to have such a good little boy. Of course I absolutely agree - even more so with teething. The worst he has been is a little moody and irritable. I just feel so bad for him - his two front teeth are getting ready to break through and he is SOOOO swollen and then the two teeth next to those have already broken through and are pushing their way out. Needless to say EVERYTHING goes directly into his mouth - if it can get past the buckets of drool. <br /><br />We got to Pittsburgh last night around 11:30am and woke Grammy & Uncle Ben up for some wonderful hellos and love. Uncle Ben got Luke the most adorable Penn State fleece winter snow suit! He looks so cute in it - and of course - WE ARE...PENN STATE!!!!! <br /><br />So now he sleeps - finally - and I will shower - finally! Mom gets to go out and be an adult tonight - can't wait to catch up with Gwen. It's only been over 10 years!Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-45689232829185931142008-12-07T18:02:00.000-08:002008-12-07T18:06:09.644-08:00The first official "Crawl"So it wasn't exactly a power crawl across the floor - but it was a good two "crawls" forward - just enough to land him face first into Odin with his mouth wide open and that loud laugh/cackle eminating through the bedroom as he made it to the cat. Of course this was MUCH to Odin's shagrin - but Mom and Dad both got to see and celebrate it together with the boy. I've said it before and I'll say it again - what gets that boy moving will be to catch that poor cat! At least Rah Rah can jump up on things - Odin is my fat boy - he's lucky if he can jump to get on the bed and even that takes a few tries!!!!Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-7824197749039225262008-12-06T21:03:00.000-08:002008-12-06T21:13:20.085-08:00Luke meets Santa<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDi-h7ebN841PI7-C-3ZSGcBEKb5WAn97mdF5ThmmtOZB3RPLu8EGupvl3We_2qR23v9tW9Lb5TRMeb8KEJJBF6YKWxx7j1TkYPBPUhBvseuvQNW-WmDSR4oayAgXEao9j_0TzEzZB5Es/s1600-h/Luke+1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5276910997890057874" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 229px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDi-h7ebN841PI7-C-3ZSGcBEKb5WAn97mdF5ThmmtOZB3RPLu8EGupvl3We_2qR23v9tW9Lb5TRMeb8KEJJBF6YKWxx7j1TkYPBPUhBvseuvQNW-WmDSR4oayAgXEao9j_0TzEzZB5Es/s320/Luke+1.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>So we headed out to Farmington today for Holly Days with the little man dressed to kill in his fabulous snow suit Grammy found at the resale shop in Northville - $13! (Go Grammy!) He reminded me of the little boy in Christmas Story - " I can't put my arms down!!!" He was so toasty in there I kept him in his PJ's underneath!</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>It was so beautiful in the snow and Luke was such a great sport about it. He had the "thinking man" look on his face wondering what all that white stuff was falling from the sky. Mom, Dad and Grandpa were so amazed by how good he is when in a new situation. It's like he just sits back and takes it all in. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Grandpa was there with his professional camera taking FABULOUS pictures while everyone watching was so completly enamored by Luke's beautiful big brown eyes and infectious smile. He looked at Santa like - "okay - who's the guy with the beard?" </div><div> </div><div>We stopped at Starbucks, had a little treat then headed home. Little man got a bit tired and hungry so he slept and sucked down 7 oz and looked like the angel that he is. I swear, I have never known love like this - I am more in love with that little boy everyday. When we go in and check on him in his crib at night all sound asleep on his knees with his little bum up in the air - I just want to crawl in there next to him and cuddle all night long!</div>Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-34092241861168589162008-12-05T16:01:00.000-08:002008-12-05T16:04:50.099-08:00Little man is so beautiful and growing so fast. I can't believe I actually put my 7 month old in a 24 month onesie today - and it FIT! In a million years I would have never imagined my baby growing so fast - but I'm 6ft tall and Trev is 6'4" tall - I guess I should be prepared for a son who looks down on me at an earlier age rather than a later age. <div><br /></div><div>As my mother said - I better get my nursing degree - it isn't going to be cheap to feed this boy!</div>Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-83395393642093566332008-12-04T13:34:00.000-08:002008-12-04T13:40:13.537-08:00The Magic MattressSo it's time for another Luke nap. He just ate a big meal and was falling asleep in his high chair, so I gently carried him upstairs as he rested his beautiful head on my shoulder then laid him down with his Swankie Blankie and then the Magic Mattress did it again - soon as he hit the crib his eyes were wide open and the legs started thump, thump thumping. So now he is talking to himself and his blankie in his crib and I am wondering if he will actually fall back asleep... <br /><br />But no matter, it's worth it to go into his room when it's time to get up to see that head pop up over the crib side and watch his whole face lite up. I better enjoy it while I can - pretty soon I will have to put the side all the way up or he will tumble right out. For that matter the magic mattress will have to be lowered as well. My 7 month old is already 30 1/2 inches long - which in relational terms means he is the average height of a 14 month old. Trev thinks he got his left tackle - I'm just hoping for a swimmer. It's non-contact and the college scholarships are good!<br /><br />Sleep is still not happening in there - looks like it's time for the magic Mom touch..Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697405829818000377.post-81215224069209353252008-12-04T11:18:00.000-08:002008-12-04T11:21:23.854-08:00Because my Mom told me so...It's been 7 months since that little boy Luke was born and my Mother keeps asking me if I am keeping a journal of his life so far. The answer is one we all know - no, but I really should. That was a few weeks ago and now, thanks to my father-in-law (Thanks Greg) I can now keep track of all things not only Luke, but the new Wilson Family as well. <br /><br />Since Luke is down for a nap - and I'm pretty sure it will be a "Luke nap" (as in 20-30 minutes) I am now down to about 10 minutes for a shower so the rest of this will have to wait until later.<br /><br />But at least I can say - Mom - I got it started!Beckyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02710506873983478216noreply@blogger.com0
